Sometimes the compensation payout date is adjusted due to public holidays.

Your first payment

In your decision letter, you can see the date of your first payment. It usually takes place on the Thursday of the week after the decision has been made. After that, the benefit is paid on the fourth Thursday of each month. The benefit for a given month is always paid out the following month. For example, the benefit for October is paid in November.

Register your bank account immediately

Register the bank account and bank where you want your compensation to be paid out with Swedbank. Do this when you apply for compensation – this way you avoid receiving a payment notice that costs money to redeem. You do not need to have an account with Swedbank; they are the ones coordinating the payment of compensation.

Tax adjustment with Skatteverket

If you want to adjust your tax for compensation from the unemployment fund, that works perfectly fine. You apply for the adjustment with Skatteverket. Please note that we do not automatically receive your decision from Skatteverket. Therefore, you need to upload the decision yourself in Mina sidor, and we will make sure to deduct the correct tax.
