Switching to Akademikernas a-kassa is easy. We’ll support you every step of the way and make sure your membership period continues without interruption. Just follow the steps below – we’ll take care of the rest!

  1. 1. Check if you’re eligible to become a member

    Check if you’re eligible to become a member

  2. 2. Fill in the membership application

    Apply for membership and choose for us to end your current membership – we’ll handle the entire switch for you. The membership fee is SEK 140 per month.

  3. 3. Keep paying until the switch is complete

    Continue paying the membership fee to your current unemployment fund until you receive a decision from us. You’ll never pay double.

  4. 4. Final step – welcome to us!

    Once the switch is complete, you’ll receive a decision from us by email. Your membership period is preserved and there’s no gap – safe and simple!

    You can reach our case officers every weekday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM at 08-412 33 00. This makes us the unemployment fund with the longest opening hours in Sweden. We believe it’s important to be there for our members when they need us.
