About the membership fee

It costs 140 SEK per month to be a member, and 25% is automatically deducted through your taxes. All members pay the same fee. Like most of our members, we recommend setting up direct debit for easy and secure payments.

140 SEK per month

Membership in the unemployment fund costs 140 SEK per month. We recommend paying via direct debit (autogiro) or e-invoice. 25% of the fee is tax-deductible, and you can see the deduction in “My Membership.”

The fee is paid in arrears

The membership fee is paid in arrears. If you join early in the month, pay by the 28th. If you join later, you’ll pay for two months the next month. Invoices are sent mid-month.

Invoice despite direct debit

Have you received an invoice even though you chose direct debit or e-invoice through your bank? That’s because we haven’t yet received confirmation from the bank. Please pay the invoice for now – we never charge the same fee twice.

Bankgiro number and OCR

Akademikernas a-kassa’s bankgiro number is 5862-8082. The payment details are always the same. Log in to My Membership to view them or use Swish to pay your fee directly from there.

25% deduction on your unemployment insurance fee – we handle it for you

You get 25 percent of your unemployment insurance fee back through a tax credit. The deduction is automatic, and you don’t need to do anything yourself.

Akademikernas a-kassa sends annual income statements to the Swedish Tax Agency for all members – both for those who pay us directly and those who pay through their union. The Tax Agency then calculates your tax credit, and the amount is pre-filled in your tax return.

Have you been a member of another unemployment insurance fund during the year? In that case, that fund will have submitted the income details for that period to the Tax Agency
