You are not considered unemployed while on vacation
You cannot receive unemployment benefits while on vacation from a job. Paid vacation is considered work and counts as worked time when qualifying for unemployment benefits (meeting the work requirement).
Vacation must always be taken in full days and full periods
The Annual Leave Act ensures that everyone can exercise their legal right to uninterrupted time off from work. Therefore, vacation is always counted in full days. For longer leave periods, even days you would not have worked are counted as vacation.
As a result, you cannot receive unemployment benefits for unemployed days that fall between vacation days from your employment.
Vacation must be reported on time reports
If you take a single vacation day, it must be reported on your time report.
That day does not affect benefits for adjacent days.
If you take vacation for several days with unemployed days in between, the entire period must be reported as vacation on the time report. If you take four consecutive weeks off from a part-time job, you cannot receive any unemployment benefits during the entire vacation period.
