Security for business owners too
Being self‑employed means freedom – but also the responsibility for your own income. With us, you get the same security as an employee, with compensation if your business is paused or closed, regardless of company structure. You can also qualify for benefits based on previous employment up to five years back if your business does not generate sufficient income.
Membership in Akademikernas a‑kassa costs only 140 SEK per month and provides a strong financial safety net for the essentials of everyday life. You never need to switch unemployment funds when your situation changes, and through your union you can add income insurance for earnings above 34,000 SEK per month. As Sweden’s largest unemployment fund, we offer high quality, long experience, and reliable security at a low cost.
