Arbetsgivarintyg ska alltid vara gratis

Arbetsgivarintyg är en central handling för alla som söker ersättning från a-kassan. Trots det råder det ibland osäkerhet kring vad arbetsgivaren faktiskt är skyldig att göra. Klart är att arbetsgivarintyg alltid ska utfärdas utan kostnad. Det är inte tillåtet att ta betalt för att lämna ut ett intyg, oavsett företag eller bransch.

Lagstadgad skyldighet

Arbetsgivare är enligt lag skyldiga att utfärda arbetsgivarintyg när en anställd begär det. Intyget ska innehålla de uppgifter som behövs för att a-kassan ska kunna bedöma rätten till ersättning, exempelvis anställningsperioder och anledning till att arbetet upphört.

Endast en officiell digital tjänst

För att underlätta både för arbetsgivare och arbetstagare har a-kassorna gemensamt utvecklat den digitala tjänsten arbetsgivarintyg.nu.

Det är den enda officiella domänen för digital hantering av arbetsgivarintyg. Andra domäner eller tjänster som påstår sig erbjuda samma funktion är inte kopplade till a-kassorna.

Det går också bra att be om ett intyg direkt

Den som inte använder den digitala tjänsten kan alltid be sin arbetsgivare om ett arbetsgivarintyg i annan form, så länge alla nödvändiga uppgifter finns med. Skyldigheten att utfärda intyget är densamma oavsett format.

An employer certificate is a key document for anyone applying for unemployment benefits. Despite this, there is sometimes uncertainty about what employers are actually required to do. What is clear is that employer certificates must always be issued free of charge. Employers are not allowed to charge for providing a certificate, regardless of company or industry.

A statutory obligation

Employers are legally required to issue an employer certificate when an employee requests one. The certificate must include the information needed for the unemployment fund to assess the right to benefits, such as periods of employment and the reason the work ended.

Only one official digital service

To make the process easier for both employers and employees, the unemployment funds have jointly developed the digital service arbetsgivarintyg.nu.

This is the only official domain for the digital handling of employer certificates. Other domains or services claiming to offer the same function are not connected to the unemployment funds.

You can also request a certificate directly

Anyone who does not use the digital service can always ask their employer for an employer certificate in another format, as long as all necessary information is included. The obligation to issue the certificate is the same regardless of format.
