If you belong to a professional group organized in the Saco Associations or the Swedish Medical Association, you are welcome as a member of Akademikernas a-kassa even if you do not have 150 Swedish credits or studying towards 180 credits.
 

Occupations that qualify for membership

If you don't have at least 150 credits, you can still become a member if you work as:
  • Nautical officer
  • Dental hygienist
  • Ship pilot
  • Aeronautical engineers
  • Head master
  • Qualified teacher
  • Church musician & parish teacher
  • Transport official
  • Senior official at PostNord
  • Qualified communicator: AD, UX designer, copywriter, press, web, etc.

Isn't your profession on the list?

If you do not work with any of the above, Akademikernas a-kassa may still be the right unemployment fund for you if you hold a position normally maintained by a person who has an academic education (e.g. manager, specialist or qualified administrator).
